The 16th annual "Dining Out for Life" event, which is set for this Thursday, April 30, will benefit AIDSCare, a Chicago-based organization dedicated to helping people with HIV and AIDS. The fundraiser, which is the single largest HIV/AIDS benefit in the country, will be held in more than 3,500 restaurants in 55 cities across North America.
More than 50 restaurants throughout Chicagoland will participate in the program. These restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds from this special night to AIDSCare, so all you have to do is pay for your meal and you'll be doing your part. You can also donate $5 by entering a raffle at each of the participating restaurants; prizes include round-trip airfare for two to Hawaii or anywhere in Central America, a two-night stay at the Chicago Marriott Downtown and tickets to various theater productions going on around town.
Some of the Chicago eateries taking part in the "Dining Out for Life" event include popular spots like Mia Francesca, La Tache and Ann Sather, upscale fine dining restaurants such as Blackbird, Vivere and Salpicon, and quaint neighborhood gems like Silver Cloud, Hamburger Mary's and Cesar's. If you were already planning on going out to eat this Thursday night, why not make it at one of these do-gooder destinations?
