Get a Mouthful of Swine Flu

Local restaurant serves up infection-inspired dish

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Rather than wear questionably effective masks and becoming socially phobic, why not get a big mouthful of the Swine Flu?

No, we're not suggesting you endanger your health. The Swine Flu is the latest Burger of the Month at the incredibly popular restaurant, Kuma's Corner (2900 W Belmont Ave).

Kuma's Corner has been featured on popular shows like Check, Please! and the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The restaurant picked up national attention in the news when it debuted its January burger of the month, the "#@(*&%^ Blagojevich" burger.

This month, owner Michael Cain has placed another topical dish on the menu: the Swine Flu. The burger patty is topped with fried tortilla strips, chorizo hash, roasted green chiles, pico de gallo, and fresh cilantro. (Get it? It's Mexican.) Finally, the burger is topped with a cream-based sauce and is served by a waiter wearing a medical face mask.

If you're not afraid of going outside or standing in line, then stop by Kuma's before the month is over to get "infected."

Matt Bartosik, editor of Off the Rocks' next issue, once gave himself a significant sweat by eating Kuma's tasty, spicy chili.
