The latest season of Bravo's "Top Chef" is set in Texas, but it's already clear that Chicago will be a force on the foodie show..
Five Chicago chefs competed in the season premiere Wednesday night, and all five chefs advanced to the next round.
"Top Chef" has a new format this season, with 29 chefs competing to make the round of 16 that will then compete for top honors.
The five local chefs that advanced Wednesday include:
- Sable's Heather Terhune
- Spiaggia's Sarah Grueneberg
- Chilam Balam's Chuy Valencia
- Moto's Chris Jones
- Moto's Richie Farina
One more Chicago chef, Aria's Beverly Kim, will compete next week for a coveted spot in the round of 16.
"Top Chef" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
