Sunda's “Food Buddha” Premieres New TLC Show

Chef Rodelio Aglibot stars in new show

The rest of the world finds out tonight what Chicago foodies have known for more than a year now.

"Food Buddha," starring Sunda's executive chef Rodelio Aglibot, premieres on The Learning Channel Monday at 9 p.m.

Aglibot visits a new city for each episode and visits three restaurants with one twist -- he orders OOE -- one of everything on the menu.

In an interview about the new show, Aglibot tells CheekyChicago.com that the concept isn't about "gluttony," but "tasting."

"There is no better way to get a true sense of a restaurant and its chef than to try everything on the menu, OOE, one of each. Some dishes you like more than others, but this way you really get a feel for the entire experience," Aglibot says.

In the back-to-back premiere episodes, Aglibot does New Orleans and San Francisco.

The premise of the show has Aglibot seeking inspiration for new dishes to try at Sunda, and while the program is considered a "presentation," not a series, there's hope it will be expanded in the future. (Watch webisodes)
