Charlie Trotter Shuts Down Take-Out Business

Trotters-to-Go closes down, despite previous plans to remain open

It's getting more and more difficult to experience Charlie Trotter's food in Chicago.

Trotter's acclaimed Lincoln Park restaurant was already scheduled to close in August, but his take-out business, Trotter's To Go, was supposed to remain open.

But the Fullerton Avenue store closed for good over the weekend, Time Out Chicago reports.

Trotter announced on New Year's Eve that he was closing his acclaimed restaurant during a party celebrating 25 years in business.

The chef says he plans to go back to school to get a masters degree in philosophy.
