Between Boutique Cafe & Lounge executive chef Radhika Desai (you may remember her from her turn on "Top Chef" this past season) has big plans for her intimate Wicker Park restaurant. She recently added sous chef Noah Sandoval (a graduate of the Culinary Institute of New Orleans and former sous chef of Verbena restaurant in Richmond, Virginia) to her team, and together they created a "Back-to-Basics" Sunday brunch menu, which will be unveiled at Between this Sunday, April 5.
Sweet and savory brunch items made with sustainable and organic ingredients star on this deceptively simple menu, which features traditional dishes jazzed up with gourmet touches. Highlights include duck confit eggs Benedict with grilled asparagus and tarragon hollandaise sauce; a grilled vegetable sandwich with squash, zucchini, red onion, arugula, tomato confit and truffle mayonnaise; steak and eggs with lump crab meat; ginger pancakes with apple compote and cinnamon maple syrup; and fresh fruit vanilla crepes with lavender cream.
The new "Back-to-Basics" brunch menu will be served every Sunday from 10AM-2PM.
