Fashion shows abound in the next few days, so put on your best party dress and check out these stylish soirees. As Heidi would say: See you on the runway!
Designer boutique Veruca Salt will bring the fierce with its first-ever Walk-Off showdown on Friday, May 29. (We can hear Tyra audibly posing in our well-coiffed heads.) The exciting event will take place at 9PM at Griffin Lounge in River North, with all aspiring models receiving the glam squad treatment: hair styling, makeovers and, of course, wardrobe.
The victorious catwalker will win a $200 gift certificate to Veruca Salt, with locations in Bucktown and River North, as well as a personal shopping session with ShopWalk, a Chicago shopping tour company. Prospective models should email jessyln@shopverucasalt.com to register.
Also on Friday, May 29 (plan accordingly!) is le Dress' "City of Lights" runway show at Vertigo Sky Lounge at the Dana Hotel & Spa in River North. The event celebrates the Wicker Park frock shop's one year anniversary with $5 SKYY vodka cocktails from 9-10PM and V.I.P. cards that entitle attendees to 30 percent off in the boutique and a chance to win one of the 10 dresses featured in the fashion show. Style won't take a day off on Sunday, May 31, as SoKo Fashion, an East Village boutique offering affordably fashionable trends, and the nearby Chicago Avenue Salon host "Fashion Rocks," a high-energy night of live music and runway looks, at Darkroom, a photography-focused nightspot. Guests will have a shot at door prizes, and everyone will get a flyer for 25 percent off of services at Chicago Avenue Salon through June 15.
