Garden of Eden Fashion Show

Akira, Imerman's Angels team up for annual fashion spectacular

Glamorama may be in our rear-view mirror, but there's still another must-see fashion show to check out in the city.

For the past six years, Akira's Garden of Eden show has managed to attract the see and be seen crowd.

This year's extravaganza will be held Sunday at Galleria Marchetti (825 W. Erie) from 4:30 - 9 p.m.

The show boasts a Shakespearean theme, complete with Elizabethan tailored costumes and scenery, along with performances by Fabrice Calmels of the Joffrey Ballet, Shannon Rovers bagpipe clan, and Lee England Jr., a Hip-Hop violinist currently seen on MTV's Making the Band.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, or $100 for a VIP package including a Belvedere sponsored bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, guaranteed seating, and a special gift from Akira.

The Chi Guide: Imerman Angels events always attract a beautiful crowd. Combine that with one of Akira's usual high-energy events and you get one of the most anticipated Sunday social events of the summer. Galleria Marchetti has an indoor/outdoor capacity for 1,500 people, which leaves plenty of space for mingling occurs before the 6 p.m. runway start time. Without the VIP package, you'll have to joust (not literally) for a standing position to get a decent view of the runway. Buy advance tickets here.
