Autumn is undeniably here; it's dark before you leave the office, and you feel unbelievably foolish still sporting those dirty, rubbery flip-flops in the elevator. No one really wanted to see your toes during the summer, and now that the pedicure is, um, expired, cover those tootsies up, sister. It's time to get that wardrobe in shape for fall. There's no need to flee for the coasts to see the latest fashions; Chicago has become its own Midwestern fashion mecca, as evidenced by Fashion Focus Chicago. The week-long fashion celebration is well underway for its fourth year, bringing the city's top designers, fashion installations, shopping events and runway shows to Millennium Park. Designer, activist and musician Pete Wentz (as in, the husband and baby-daddy of Ashlee Simpson's baby-bump) featured his Clandestine Industries line at the opening runway show on Oct. 1. Still to come: The Allure of Couture runway show on Monday, Oct. 6 and Designers of Chicago Fashion Show presented by Macy's on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Admission to these two events is free, but reservations are required.
