The rest of the country is now hip to what Chicagoans have known for some time -- Wicker Park is one of the best hipster-friendly neighborhoods around.
Forbes and Nextdoor.com named the Northwest enclave the fourth best hipster neighborhood in the country.
The list touted Wicker Park's "galleries, music venues, boutiques and food options" as the main reasons for its lofty listing, along with "a smattering of Victorian mansions built by wealthy 19th century merchants and beer brewers.
Silver Lake in Los Angeles, Mission District in San Francisco and Williamsburg, Brooklyn were all rated ahead of Wicker Park in the survey.
The publications took into account factors like coffee shops, availability of food trucks, farmer's markets and walkability in compiling its list.
That wait at Big Star just got a little longer.
