One of the most popular drag queens on the planet is set to hit Chicago this month for a two-night engagement.
Varla Jean Merman will perform at Lakeview's Hydrate (3458 N. Halsted) on Feb. 27th and 28th.
Merman -- who describes herself as the love child of Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine -- has a number of movie, TV and stage appearances to her credit, including the film "Girls will be Girls," she played the character Mary Sunshine in the revival of "Chicago" on Broadway, and she also had a recurring role on "All My Children" as Rosemary Chicken.
