Tonight: Parking Ticket Party

Plus, Midsummer Eve of the Eve and 1st Fridays Boogie

PARK IT HERE: Like many Chicagoans, you probably have a paper trail of parking tickets that could easily serve as kindling for a fire. Turn that negative into a positive at Faith & Whiskey's Parking Ticket Party tonight. Take your tickets to the party and get automatically entered into a raffle where the winner receives the total amount of their tickets, up to $1,200. Drink specials include $5 Irish Car Bombs and $5 Traffic Light shots, a free pizza buffet from 5-8 p.m. and the sounds of DJ Texas Street Jesus. In other words, you're better off not even driving to this party. 5 p.m. - close, 1365 W Fullerton Ave

EARLY EVE OF THE EVE: The folks behind the huge Union Station soiree every December are having some fun during the warmer months by hosting the Midsummer EVE of the EVE charity event tonight. It all goes down at The Plaza at Park Grill in Millennium Park and features an open bar, appetizers, music and a silent auction. 6-10 p.m., 11 North Michigan Ave, $60 in advance and $75 at the door

1st FRIDAY: Standing on the sidelines is not optional at the 1st Fridays Boogie at Rodan with DJs Josh Deep and Kennedy Ashinze who spin a cook-up of soul, funk, world, broken beat, and Afro sounds. Definitely a different twist on the usual dance parties around town. 9 p.m., 1530 N Milwaukee, FREE
