Tonight: The Boardwalk Bash

Plus: Adler After Dark and "Apprentice" viewing party

ON THE BOARDWALK: Take a trip back to Prohibition days -- without those pesky no-alcohol laws -- by hitting up Bloomingdales tonight for a party inspired by HBO's new series Boardwalk Empire. CS Magazine is hosting this soiree that includes complimentary manicures and shoeshines, a cigar lounge, and passed appetizers. Hit Bull & Bear for the official after party. 5-8 p.m., 900 North Michigan Ave, RSVP to info@genuinechicago.com

PARTY WITH THE STARS: It's the third Thursday of the month, which means it's time for Adler After Dark, the Planeterium's boozy bash set against the beautiful view of the Chicago skyline. Munch on hors d'ouerves, ogle at the crowd or the sky by using the Doane Observatory telescope, the largest public telescope in the Midwest. 6-10 p.m., 1300 South Lake Shore Dr, Tickets $7-$15

YOU'RE FIRED: Check out the season premier of "The Apprentice" with the Chicagoan competing on the show. The event at Rockit Bar & Grill (Wrigley) is hosted Stephanie Castagnier and benefits her non-profit organization, Child Cause. 7-10:30 p.m., 3700 N. Clark, $15 includes one drink ticket
