Mini-Taste Takes Over Daley Plaza

A mini-Taste of Chicago offers eats from nine vendors from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Daley Plaza

Got a craving for Taste of Chicago eats?

The annual summer festival is offering a little amuse-bouche Tuesday afternoon in Daley Plaza, 50 W. Washington St., before the real deal happens in Grant Park.

Tuesday's mini-Taste features nine vendors serving a range of food, from ribs and pizza to crab cake nuggets. Restaurants taking to the plaza include Robinson's #1 Ribs, Connie's Pizza, Adobo Grill, Chicago Sweet Connection Bakery, Manny's Cafeteria and Delicatessen, and Texas de Brazil.

Cold beverages will be available too to wash down the street fare and cool you off on this hot day

The tiny Taste is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cash-only prices range from $2 to $3.

Earlier this month, the city announced it would no longer be sponsoring fireworks at the Taste this year. Some suburbs are planning for crowds city-goers to come out and celebrate and some communities are caught off guard by the announcement.
