It's Time For the Fall Garb Grab

AKIRA hosts men's fashion show

If the calendar isn't enough of a reminder that summer is approaching its last legs, then maybe the glut of fall/winter fashion shows will do the trick.

And while many are lamenting the fact that summer never actually arrived, it really is time to start thinking about hoodies and long pants.

Enter AKIRA, the locally-based retailer known for its trendy designs and high-energy flashy fashion shows. See for yourself on Thursday at SolarX, a fall-winter men's fashion show at Moe's Cantina (3518 N. Clark St.).

FORD models will showcase the latest designs on an X-shaped illuminated runway with a multimedia backdrop. Expect garb from menswear labels such as Paige Premium Denim, Puma Black Station, Dorsia and Bjorn Borg.

The AKIRA folks say to expect trendy cocktail attire with a masculine touch.

RSVP to events@akirachicago.com in order to attend -- or keep your head in the North Avenue Beach sand and pretend that summer is actually here to stay.
