The Empire Gives Back at Field Museum

30th anniversary of sci-fi film

Star Wars fans: Ready, are you?

Next month marks the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, the second part of the original Star Wars trilogy and arguably the most popular film in the entire series.

But IMAX and 3-D re-releases, expect not.

Lucasfilm Ltd. has launched a year-long campaign, "The Empire Gives Back," that will raise money for a number of charities, including the Field Museum's Education Outreach programs.

Field Museum will hold four screenings of the film beginning on May 7 and 8. Tickets are available at the museum website. Various packages include admission, a memorabilia gift bag, and/or choice seating.

Feel free to bring along your newly found Dark Lord father.
