Airfare and hotel stays being what they are (i.e. outrageously expensive), you might want to forgo the packing and dispense with the SPF. Especially now that River North Latin hotpsot Nacional 27 has launched "Miami Nights," a South Beach-inspired series of Friday night soirees.
How does the already-glam Nacional 27 transform into a sultry tropical nightclub? Through continuous footage of sexy Miami fashion shows, guest DJs and percussionists, and South Florida-style signature cocktails and tapas.
Nacional 27 master mixologist Adam Seger has crafted a specialty drink for Miami Nights -- the "Suba" martini, a low cal/low carb concoction perfect for the narcissistic Miami club scene. Seger's other creative cocktail recipes, such as the "Latin Manhattan," the "LookBetterNaked" and the "Brazilian Southside," also fit the bill.
The events kick off at 5PM every Friday, with complimentary tapas and ceviches until 6:30PM. The parties continue with master drummer Geraldo D'Olivera performing until 9:30PM. Latin house music sets an exotic vibe until 11PM, when South Beach nightclub beats take over until 2AM. A $10 cover charge goes into effect at 9:30PM until close, with complimentary passion-ginger sangria for the ladies. December DJs include Sadie (Dec. 5), Veritas (Dec. 12, 19) and Toymaster (Dec. 26 and New Year's Eve -- a "Miami Nights" Wednesday).
