With the Rock ‘N Roll Marathon creeping up on us this weekend, we have become weary with anticipation. Have we carb-loaded appropriately? Did we hydrate? Will we really make it to the finish line? Will it be another 90-degree day? Worry as you will, but know that the finish line comes with more rewards than you think.
P.F. Chang’s is treating Rock ‘n’ Roll runners at the Health & Fitness Expo and the race finish line to some delicious prizes. During the Expo, (which runs Friday July 31 from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday August 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) attendees will receive fortune cookies for good luck and have the opportunity to sign up for P.F. Chang’s Warrior Card. If you’re lucky enough to get one, you’ll get access to the VIP Warrior Zone at the finish line. We’re talking a place filled with free lettuce wraps, edamame dumplings and their signature cake – the great wall of chocolate. And after burning off thousands of calories on race day, you can confidently say it’s a guilt-free indulgence. What a rarity!
And who says first place is always the best? In this case, you’re going to want to come in 64th place instead. Why? Miller beer is rewarding the runner who comes in 64th place from each age bracket with a gift basket full of MGD 64 apparel, a pedometer, a magazine subscription and more. And no matter what place you come in, runners get two beers at the finish line. Fancy that. For those who’ve just come to rock instead of run, you’ve got a lot of work ahead of you. MGD 64 will host two special cheering sections; one at mile marker 10 and one right before the finish line. Spectators joining the MGD 64 Cheering Section will receive fun MGD 64 giveaways while enjoying shade and supporting race participants. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it.
