Man Charged With Causing Spybar Flood

Police say man intentionally hit sprinkler

A Burbank man faces felony charges for allegedly punching a water sprinkler with his hand at SpyBar early Friday morning and flooding the nightclub.

Samuel Clucas, 27, was charged with one count of felony criminal damage to property after police say he intentionally struck a water sprinkler head with his hand.

It happened at about 1:30 a.m., causing several inches of water to pour down in the club and on the DJ equipment, according to the Chicago Tribune

Police did not know why Clucas punched the sprinkler, but according to initial reports, he may have been involved in a fight at the club before the incident.

The club is scheduled to have a 15th anniversary party Friday night featuring Welsh DJ Sasha, and according to their Twitter feed, the party will go on as planned.
