Punk Out at Steppenwolf

Plus, Black Eyed Peas after party, SXSW sendoff and Claychella

SONIC PUNK: Steppenwolf presents a performance on Sunday that is bound to bring the energy in "punkplay." A sonic mix-tape frames the story of two boys living a suburban '80s adolescence within a world where everyone thinks, looks and talks the same. Punk music becomes a foundation for the boys to create a self-defining belief system. At the very least, you'll get to rock out. 4 p.m., 1650 N. Halsted St., $20

PARTY WITH THE PEAS: We got a feeling you'll be able to get down with the Black Eyed Peas even if you don't have tickets to the United Center concert Saturday night. Several members of the crew will hit Enclave nightclub on March 13 for the official after-party where three of the four are scheduled to do a special DJ set. 11 p.m., 220 W Chicago, $20, $30

SXSW SENDOFF: The Hideout gives props and funds to the Chicago bands headed to next weekend's SXSW festival in Austin by throwing an all-day bon voyage party Saturday. The benefit shows features 11 Chicago acts rockin' out back-to-back with funds going toward gas, food and extracurriculars which we hope doesn't mean you'll be supporting somebody's bad habits. Highlights include performances by The Hood Internet and Waco Brothers. 3:45 p.m., 1354 W Wabansia, $10

DANCE ALL DAY: Ditch the green beer and head over to Lincoln Hall for the second annual Claychella festival. A who's-who of hipster-friendly DJs such as Flosstradamus, Hollywood Holt, Million $ Mano and Dark Wave Disco will perform back-to-back making it an all-day dance extravaganza. Noon - 10 p.m., 2424 N Lincoln Ave., RSVP
