New Dating Concept: Meeting Live People

"Game Night Meets the Club Scene" offers new singles scene

It doesn't seem that long ago that the concept of meeting someone through a personal ad was taboo. In fact, you would have been ashamed if a co-worker found out you posted an ad in a newspaper.

Those days are long gone. There's no shame in admitting you met someone on Match.com, and your profile -- pics, interests and all -- are out there for the world to see.

That's the reasoning behind a new after-work concept called North Meet South. It's the brainchild of Kimberly Brown, who wanted to create a setting for singles to meet in a fun setting while eliminating the stress of the typical hookup scene.

The event is called "Game Night Meets the Club Scene" and is held every Friday from 6 - 11 p.m. at Blu 47 Restaurant & Lounge (4655 S. King Drive).

"You have board games, you have people dancing in some areas, others eating, some at the bar -- it's just a really nice mix of all the Friday nightlife that could happen," Brown said.

The events are targeted to the 30 and older crowd and there's an emphasis on attracting a diverse group of people.

Admission is free with a business card. Log on to www.NorthMeetSouth.com for more information.
