Madonna Tour Hits Chicago in September

Singer's world tour brings her to United Center

Fresh off of her Super Bowl performance, Madonna has announced plans to bring her act to Chicago in September.

The scheduled Sept. 19 stop at the United Center is part of Madonna's 2012 world tour, which begins May 29 in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The tour will help promote Madonna's newest album, "MDNA," which will be released on March 26 on Live Nation Entertainment/Interscope Records. Chicago is one of 26 shows planned in North America.

Her last tour, in 2008-2009, grossed $408 million, the highest for a solo artist, according to Billboard. Her 2006 tour fetched $194 million.

Tickets for the Chicago concert go on sale to the general public beginning 10 a.m. Monday. They can be purchased at the United Center box office and online at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com starting at 10 a.m.
