It's D. Wade's World

NBA star making multiple Chicago appearances this week

Forget about Oprah, this week may very well turn out to be the D-Wade show in Chicago.

Dwayne Wade, the Chicago native and Miami Heat star, was spotted prominently with his crew at the Jay-Z concert Tuesday night, but it's hardly the only place you'll be able to catch him this week.

Wade, who graduated from Richards High School in 2000, is hosting a series of charity events to benefit his Wade's World Foundation.

A who's who of Chicago and national athletes will be hand Thursday when Wade hosts a party at Crimson Lounge in the Sax Hotel (333 N. Dearborn).

The festivities kick off at 9 p.m., with the $20 donation going to the foundation. RSVP to WadeBenefit@gmail.com.

On Friday, you can catch Wade at 10 Pin Bowling Lounge (333 N. State St.) for another charity event, however, this one will cost you, with tickets starting at $500 for an individual bowler.

Saturday will be a little easier on the pocketbook at "D. Wade's Chicago Has Talent" at Harris Theatre. Fourteen local acts will compete for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Dallas for the 2010 All-Star weekend, along with performing at Wade's All-Star Luncheon. Tickets start at $15 for the show and range up to $100 for a VIP ticket that gets you access to a pre-show meet and greet with Wade.

So head on out and give a warm welcome to a local boy done good. Besides, isn't his contract up in 2010?
