No tix to San Antonio? Cheer on the Wildcats from home

Wildcat fans are due for a bowl game win.  They haven't had one since the 1949 Rose Bowl, after all.  Yes, they've had six bowl appearances since the 1995/96 season when they last played in the Rose Bowl. The Wildcats appeared in a bowl game most recently with a loss to UCLA in the 2005 Sun Bowl.  So what we're saying is, it's time for a win, people.

No. 22 Northwestern faces No. 25 Missouri in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29 in San Antonio.  If you've got the purple pride but no tickets, don't fret.  You can cheer on the Wildcats amongst friends right here in the blustery city. The NU Club of Chicago and the Northwestern Gridiron Network are hosting an Alamo Bowl Watch Party at Lion Head Pub in Lincoln Park. Kick-off is at 7 p.m., but you might want to show up early to grab a seat.   Specials include $1.50 Coors Lights, $7.99 New York Strip Steak dinner and $2.50 Goose Island Mild Winter beers.  There will be giveaways and promotions all night, as well as the game played on all screens with volume.
