Social stimulus, Top Chefs and burlesque beauties

A warm summer night meant plenty people were out to play last night. We caught some of the evidence:

Partying with a Purpose
The Social Stimulus Club's monthly throwdowns always attracts a crowd. Last night we hit Lincoln Park's Tili's, which was packed with partygoers guzzling their way through the last vestiges of summer. As always, the admission fee goes toward a good cause, in this case the Anti-Cruelty Society -- reknowned for kindness towards animals, and reporters who need a drink.

Top Chef Viewing Party
Former Top Chef contestant and Chicago resident Radhika Desai hosted a Top Chef viewing parties at Lakeview's Kit Kat Lounge, where we got the inside dirt on the show and nibbled a weekly food and drink pairing created by Desai and Kit Kat Chef Mark Kasper. Bonus: we were mesmerized by a performance by one of Kit Kat's divas who we're convinced is really a girl -- isn't she?

No-Tell Motel Burlesque Show
A burlesque show proved the perfect topper for the evening. The No-Tell Motel has become a Wednesday night fixture at Debonair Social Club (1575 N Milwaukee), and last night we found out why. Three performers took the stage for the 10 p.m. show, but from what we were told, the real action always goes down at midnight. We walked away looking forlornly at those harness strap contraptions hanging from the ceiling, wondering what adventures were ahead for the evening -- but there's always next week.
