About Tonight: Where We'll Be

Adler unveils new party, Time Out unleashes sex issue, CuCu Diamantes performs

It's back to Thursday this week for the About Last Night crew, and tonight's lineup offers a brand new monthly party on the scene, an annual bash that isn't for the faint-of-heart and a popular Cuban singer who will be ripping up Rumba. Meet up with us, flash your purty mug for our cameras, and check out the evidence of your debauchery Friday morning. Here's the plan:

Adler After Dark
Tonight's your chance to feel like a trailblazer. Be the first to check out Adler Planetarium's new party for the young professional set. The party goes down every third Thursday of the month going forward. It'll  feature cocktails, appetizers and mixes from DJ D-Rek, all against the backdrop of the Chicago skyline. The exhibits will also be open during the party for you to peruse. Tonight's inaugural event is free. Adler Planetarium, 1300 S. Lake Shore Dr. 6-10 p.m.

Take Time Out for Sexy Time
The fact that Durex condoms and The Pleasure Chest are two of the sponsors of tonight's bash in honor of Time Out Chicago magazine's annual sex issue, should be all the information you need if you're on the fence about whether to check it out. It's definitely not for the prudish, as the theme will include everything having to do with the horizontal boogie. Entertainment includes a live DJ, the first burlesque performance by the Chicago Starlets, an Akira fashion show and a closing performance by burlesque queen Michelle L'Amour. You've been sufficiently warned. Lumen, 839 W Fulton Market, 7-10 p.m., $15 in advance

Welcome to CuCuLand
We'll admit that we didn't know a whole lot about CucuDiamantes at first, but after a little research, we discovered that we may have been the ones living under a rock. After tonight's performance, all of Chicago will get familiar with this sultry Cuban performer who was nominated for a 2009 Latin Grammy. Expect sizzling hot Latin fusion beats and theatrics on stage, and an even hotter scene on the dance floor. Rumba, 351 W Hubbard St., 9 p.m. $15 at the door.
