Varsity football operations were reinstated Monday at Niles North High School after they were briefly suspended due to hazing allegations involving players on the north suburban team.

Officials are releasing few details, but given recent hazing allegations in Wheaton and Lake Zurich–Niles North High School in Skokie is taking the accusations of the “possible hazing” incident extremely seriously.

All varsity football operations were suspended until further notice Monday after a north suburban high school district announced a police investigation into hazing allegations at the school, officials said.

Students at Niles North High School in north suburban Skokie walked out of class Friday afternoon to protest what they believed was a lack of discipline for a student who posted a racist message on social media.
