Police have spoken with the targets of a bogus “swatting” incident that locked down the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston for several hours Wednesday.

A person with a gun was reported Wednesday on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University, school officials said.

Police and SWAT descended on Chicago’s Northwest Side following a report of an attempted bank robber who may have entered a home in the city’s Portage Park neighborhood.
