Though Gov. J.B. Pritzker plans to lift Illinois’ indoor mask mandate by the end of the month, some places will still require face coverings until further notice.

Reactions are mixed around the Chicago area after the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention released updated recommendations for indoor masking. NBC 5’s Chris Coffey reports.

The Illinois Department of Public Health is “fully adopting” the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s updated masking guidance, the state’s health department said Tuesday, recommending that fully vaccinated people begin wearing masks indoors again in places with substantial and high transmission.
