New-look Illinois opens the football season against Eastern Illinois

After a 5-7 season that saw them miss out on a bowl appearance, Illinois will kick off their 2024 campaign with a showdown against Eastern Illinois on Thursday night.

Illinois' Big Ten opener moved to Friday night primetime slot

As part of the conference’s television agreement with Fox, a total of nine Big Ten football games have been shifted to Friday night start times this season, and the move will impact both Illinois and Northwestern.
