President-elect Joe Biden is slated to speak with small businesses Wednesday, while pushing Congress to pass a coronavirus relief bill. Democrats and Republicans are pitching a $908 billion compromise as urgency builds upon Capitol Hill to address widespread economic fallout from the ongoing pandemic.

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he had instructed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to cease negotiations on the stimulus package until after the election.

President Trump is threatening to veto the next coronavirus relief bill, unless the bill includes a payroll tax cut. Republicans have backed a trillion dollar plan that includes money for schools, lawsuit protections for businesses and another round of stimulus checks.
