The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning ahead of a storm system that is expected to generate wind gusts in excess of 60 miles per hour Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. Here are the latest headlines from around the area.

Residents are being urged to take precautions with dangerous wind gusts set to hit the Chicago area Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.

The Chicago area is under a High Wind Warning tonight and early Thursday for winds up to 60+ mph. NBC 5’s Paul Deanno has a forecast update.

After being pounded by severe weather Friday, the Chicago area will see another threat Saturday morning, with wind gusts in excess of 60 miles per hour reported in some locations in both the city and suburbs.

Wind Advisory in effect until 3 pm with gusts as high as 55 mph.
