Chicago Rainfall Totals

June rainfall for Chicago has added up quickly. As of June 29, we’re up to 6.2 inches of rain, which is high, but not in the city’s all-time Top 10. NBC 5 meteorologist Paul Deanno explains.

The Chicago area has been inundated with rain in recent days, and the National Weather Service has released some eye-popping rainfall totals from the last 72 hours. In Emington, located in Livingston County, a total of 8.16 inches of rain have fallen in the last three days, according to NWS reports. Ashkum, located in Iroquois County, has reported 6.81 inches…

Saturday’s heavy rainfall caused flash flooding throughout the Chicago area, wreaking havoc with traffic and causing basement flooding in some locations. NBC 5’s Lisa Chavarria has more details.
