Zoraida Dances to Fight Against Breast Cancer

She asks for donations as little as $5

Her mission is to dance her heart out to help find a cure for breast cancer.

Zoraida Sambolin, NBC 5 News Today anchor, will compete in the Sixth Annual Dancing with Chicago Celebrities with other local celebrities at the Hyatt Regency, 151 E. Wacker Dr., Friday, March 11, 2011.

Arthur Murray provided Sambolin with a professional dance partner for the highly-anticipated competition to benefit the Chicagoland affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Zoraida shared her breast cancer scare with her viewers, revealing she underwent two biopsies and surgery after doctors thought she had the disease.

She expressed how blessed she felt when her results came back negative.

“I feel totally committed and obligated to do this because I was scared to death, and it totally rocked my world. I can’t imagine a woman having to go through this and finding out that yes indeed this is what she’s going to face -- the battle of her life,” said Sambolin.

She is asking for donations to help find a cure "so our babies" won't have to worry about this disease.
