Snow's Heading Our Way

Save to say that "Old Man Winter" has settled in for the long haul.  This, the first full week of the new year gets off to a frigid start.  There will be a slight moderation in our temps Tuesday and Wednesday, but we'll remain well below average even by January's standards.  A developing storm will bring our next shot at snow Wednesday night into Thursday.  While the computer guidance is still somewhat uncertain as to the exact track and intensity of this system, initial details show that this system has the potential to produce significant snowfall in the Chicago Metro area.  Once this storm departs, the Polar Express will roll back into town with another shot of bitter cold temperatures that will last into the upcoming weekend.

This time of year can be especially hard on the elderly, those who are homebound and on our pets.  Take a moment to check on your neighbor's and seniors you know.  As a reminder, please bring your pets indoors in these brutal conditions, they rely on you to protect them and to keep them warm and dry.
