This Pooh Bear's going into hibernation.
The FBI announced today the arrest of a Chicago man who is believed to have robbed three Chicago area banks while wearing a Winnie the Pooh sweatshirt.
Agents apprehended the alleged bank robber, Michael J. Veysada, 45, at 5541 West Byron. Veysada was taken into custody without incident, though agents "were forced to neutralize" a pit bull that attacked them when they entered Veysada's house.
Agents said a private citizen tipped them off after seeing Veysada in media reports.
Veysada's charged with one count of armed bank robbery, a felony offense, for the August 12th theft of $1300 from an MB Financial branch in Countryside.
Veysada's also a suspect in the August 7th robbery of a Park Ridge Chase bank, and the August 10th robbery of a North Harlem Bank of America location.
The Pooh Bandit's being held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 25th.
If convicted., Veysada faces up to 20 years in the pokey.
