Porn Link Found on Town's Web Site

Talk about a major oops! A Stonington, Conn., first selectman is being blamed for free pornography that was available on the town’s Web site.

In an effort to meet and talk with residents, town leader Ed Haberek turns to social networking sites, including Tagged, and that's what caused the problem, according to the Day of New London

Like the more popular Facebook, Tagged allows others to post links to their pages by becoming someone’s “friend.”

Haberek’s “friend,” Bonita L., who describes herself as a 26-year-old bisexual from Beech Grove, Ky., had some raunchy stuff on her page, including graphic images and video of couples having sex, the Day reports. Since she and Haberek were Tagged friends, her posts were connected to him.

"I couldn't believe this was on the Town of Stonington's Web site that kids have access to. I was absolutely shocked,” Selectman William Brown told the Day.

Brown also told the paper a local woman whose daughter saw the images called him about it on Sunday. Brown wants Haberek to be held accountable for allowing the images to be accessed on the town Web site.

Haberek apologized for the faux pas and said his intention was not to offend anyone. He also added that he was not aware of the images and he did not know Bonita. He said the town removed its Tagged account from the town Web site Sunday night.
