One-Eyed Kitten "Sir Stuffington" Becomes an Online Sensation

A rescue cat named Sir Stuffington became an internet sensation when his foster mom put pictures of him wearing an eye patch online. He and his two siblings were taken to the Multmonah County Animal Shelter in Portland. Covered with fleas, and suffering from an upper respiratory infection, "it was clear he had survived some sort of traumatic injury that caused a disfigured jaw and the loss of one eye," the shelter wrote in a blog post. Visitors can volunteer, foster or donate to the shelter here.

More than 53,000 pets were adopted through the 2016 Clear the Shelters campaign, a nationwide push to place deserving animals in forever homes. Join the conversation on social media using #ClearTheShelters.
