Man Holds 100 Guiness World Records

This has to be a record - for "Most Records."

New Yorker Ashrita Furman, 54, broke another barrier this week to become the holder of 100 simultaneous places in the Guinness Book of World Records, the New York Daily News reported.

Furman is the first person to hold 100 records at the same time, earning the title after he assembled a group that read poetry in 111 different languages at City Hall Park Wednesday.

"I believe we all have an inner strength that we very rarely use," Furman said.

Furman, a Queens health-food store owner, has worked on breaking records since 1979 and said he's shattered about 230 total - but some have been broken since, he said.

He's broken a Guiness record on every continent, including Antarctica, where he jumped a mile on a pogo stick.

Some of his favorite Guinness feats? He ate the most M&Ms with chopsticks in a minute - 38 - earlier this year, and completed the world's fastest mile on a kangaroo ball on the Great Wall of China.

"I just love the challenge of trying to be the best in the world in something," Furman said.
