Chicago's Got Groundhogs, Too

Punxsutawney Phil's success rate earns big fat "F"

Punxsutawney Pennsylvania doesn't have the only rodent weather prognosticator; there are groundhogs in Illinois, too.

Brookfield Zoo has a pair of furry forecasters named Stormy and Tumbleweed who chipped in their two cents about when spring will arrive in the Chicagoland area, according to The Herald News.

Actually it was just Tubleweed who emerged from her den. Thankfully she didn't see her shadow.

That's different than what, Punxsutawney Phil saw. The most famous groundhog saw his shadow and ran back home. That means six more weeks of winter, according to lore.

Honestly, though, nobody cares what those groundhogs say. Anyone who lives in Chicago knows winter lasts until sometime in June.
