Willy Garcia Among White Sox Spring Training Roster Cuts

The Chicago White Sox have made their first serious cuts of spring training, sending several high-profile pitchers to their minor league camp.

Left-handed pitcher Jace Fry, the team’s third round draft pick in the 2014 Draft, was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte, according to the White Sox. He appeared in 11 games for the White Sox last season, posting a 10.80 ERA in those appearances and giving up 12 hits in 6.2 innings of work.

The Sox also reassigned pitchers Brian Clark, Tyler Danish, Jordan Stephens, Alec Hansen, and TJ House to their minor league camp in Glendale.

Outfielder Willy Garcia, who had 119 plate appearances and a pair of home runs for the White Sox last season, was also released by the team.

The White Sox now have 53 players remaining in their major league camp, including 26 pitchers, 11 infielders, 11 outfielders, and five catchers.
