Mesa, AZ (Sports Network) - Reed Johnson clubbed a pinch-hit two-run homer and the Chicago Cubs got by San Diego, 5-3, in spring training action.
Milton Bradley, Micah Hoffpauir and Esteban German drove in the other runs for Chicago. Mitch Atkins gave up two unearned runs on two hits and as many walks in a two-inning start and Carlos Marmol hurled two spotless frames for the win.
Kyle Blanks blasted a two-run shot for the Padres while Everth Cabrera tripled in the other run. Kevin Correia allowed eight hits and four runs over 4 2/3 innings in taking the loss.
