Prep Destination Winner: Lake Forest at Libertyville H.S

NBC 5 News Today will broadcast live from Libertyville High School on Friday morning

In a wild final hour of voting, foes from the North Suburban Lake conference held on making Lake Forest and Libertyville High Schools the winners of the NBC 5 "Prep Destination of the Week."

Four different lead changes in the last hour put the Scouts and Wildcats in the top spot with 7,133 votes.

We'll bring our NBC 5 cameras to Libertyville High School early Friday morning to highlight their football game scheduled for Friday night.

Wheaton North at Wheaton Warrenville South came in second place with 7,047 votes, while the North-South elimination game in Plainfield finished in third with 2,929 votes.

After more than 17,000 tallies this week, the "Prep Destination of the Week" segment has collected more than 100,000 total votes since August.

Libertyville has been a playoff mainstay, taking home the 2004 Class 7A state title under Coach Randy Kuceyeski. This will be Kuceyeski's final regular season home game for the Cats.

"Coach Kuz" is retiring after 33 years of coaching and the last 18 as head coach in Libertyville. He has been battling a form of oral cancer throughout the season and although he has been less than 100 percent, Kuceyeski continues to inspire the community by being on the sidelines each week.

Come early to Libertyville and be ready to cheer, bring your signs and your school spirit. We ask for the fans to be energetic, as we hope showcase your community pride all throughout Chicagoland. Also, don't forget to show us your moves on "Dance Friday."
