Blackhawks Practice Report: 3/15

Notes from practice:

-Jonathan Toews has had a setback, though there's a large black car with tinted windows rolling up in front of my house now that I've written that. But when you go from skating to not skating, that's a setback. The process starts over now, with Toews declaring when he's ready to start skating on his own again, getting through a few of those sessions, then rejoin the team for practice, then cleared for contact, and then back. It's going to be a bit still, and Hawks fans should just prepare for that. Could he miss the rest of the year? It's a growing possibility, but still not likely.

-Patrick Sharp missed practice, but he's apparently fine and heading to Dallas with the rest of the team.

-Ray Emery has the flu and missed practice, but Corey Crawford was going to start anyway. Big shock there. If Emery can't make the trip, look for Carter Hutton to get an emergency call-up to sit with the baseball hat Friday night.

-Niklas Hjalmarsson also missed practice, but apparently his injury is not related to the concussion that caused him to miss a month. Or so they say. Stay tuned.

-Steve Montador also missed practice, and probably has had himself a setback. We'll have to see on that one, but with Hjalmarsson struggling again and Lepisto hurt for a while, Montador's return is becoming more and more important. No one wants to see Sean O'Donnell and Dylan Olsen paired together for a long stretch if they don't have to, which would mean the other four d-men are going to get a silly amount of minutes.
