Peanut Punches a Return Trip to the Pro Bowl

Charles Tillman's single season career high 10 "Peanut Punches" has earned him a second straight trip to the Pro Bowl.

Ten years into his NFL career, Tillman is tied for the most forced fumbles -- 39 -- since 2003. Bears head coach Lovie Smith marveled at how Tillman leads the team on their "big play" board.

Thirteen is the goal set by Tillman. He already has 21 with a game to go this season.

"Just big play after big play," Smith said. "I keep hearing how old he is and 'over the hill' gang, he's having another career year."

Linebacker Lance Briggs came to the Bears in the same draft class as Tillman, the 6"2" unknown cornerback out of Louisiana-Lafayette, who Briggs says is revolutionizing the game of football.

"I know there's a lot of high school [and] pee wee coaches that are changing the way they coach defense because of him," Briggs advised.

Teammates marvel at how Tillman has taken care of his body at a position that takes a lot of banging. He's banged up again this week with limited participation in Thursday's practice, nursing ribs and elbow injuries before facing the NFC's leading receiver Sunday, Calvin Johnson.
