University of Illinois to honor Bulls' Ayo Dosunmu originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago
The recognition keeps coming for Ayo Dosunmu.
Drawing notice for his strong rookie season with the Chicago Bulls, Dosunmu now will receive some love from his former stomping grounds. The University of Illinois announced on Wednesday that it will hold a ceremony on Jan. 6 where Dosunmu will join the school's "honored jerseys" program. Illinois faces Maryland that night.
Dosunmu will be the 34th player in school history to have his jersey in the rafters. He averaged 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists last season as he earned first-team All-American honors while winning the Bob Cousy point guard of the year and USA Today national player of the year honors.
