Rice Kicker Misses Game-Winning Field Goal With Quadruple Doink

Forget the double doink: Rice loses after OT quadruple doink originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Bears fans are familiar with the double doink. On Saturday, Rice football fans were introduced to the quadruple doink.

Rice and Middle Tennessee were locked in a 34-34 tie in overtime when the Owls lined up for a potential 45-yard, game-winning field goal. Rice's Collin Riccitelli's kick had the distance, but it improbably banged off the goal post four times.

The kick first hit the right upright, then down off the crossbar, up off the left upright and down off the crossbar again, falling harmlessly into the end zone, no good.

Unbelievable.

Middle Tennessee won the game with a touchdown on the next series. It may not be the same stakes as Cody Parkey's missed kick in the NFC Wild Card Game two seasons ago, but you have to feel for Riccitelli after this.
