Report: Bulls' Thad Young to Purchase Minority Stake in Brisbane Bullets

Report: Young to purchase stake in Australian basketball team originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

Here's a combination of words you probably thought you'd never read together.

Bulls forward Thad Young is closing in on agreement to purchase a minority stake in the Brisbane Bullets, a team in Australia's National Basketball League (NBL), Marc Stein of the New York Times reported Thursday evening.

As Stein notes, Kevin Martin, who was once Young's teammate on the 2014-15 Minnesota Timberwolves, is the majority owner of the team.

Young all but confirmed the report with a cryptic tweet in response:

The Bullets posted a 15-13 record in the 2019-20 NBL season, finishing sixth in the nine-team league and narrowly missing the playoffs. Perhaps Young's financial foray down under will help flip their fortunes in the future.
