Report: Bears' Allen Robinson ‘has Asked About a Possible Trade'

Report: Allen Robinson 'has asked about a possible trade' originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

The Bears have their work cut out for them this week, and that's before they even start game-planning the New York Giants.

After Twitter blew up with speculation that Allen Robinson was unhappy with the team's inactivity in regards to a contract extension for the wide receiver, a new report from the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs all but confirms that.

In the article, Biggs writes that "the divide between Robinson and the Bears runs deeper than" anyone previously thought, and reports that at one point, Robinson "asked about a possible trade."

Playing out the last season of his three-year, $42 million contract, Robinson spoke at several points throughout the offseason about his desire to get a deal done. In late August, he told reporters that he hadn't heard from the Bears anytime recently and had pivoted his focus towards the season. Teammates like Cordarrelle Patterson, Tarik Cohen, and Darnell Mooney have all come out and publicly voiced support for an extension.

You can read all of Biggs' report right here. There's no word on when Robinson may speak next, but head coach Matt Nagy – and starting QB Mitch Trubisky – are scheduled to talk to media tomorrow afternoon. Buckle up!
