NFL Power Rankings Roundup: Bears Are 2-0, No One Knows Where to Place Them

Power Rankings Roundup: Are the 2-0 Bears good? originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

If you haven't heard, the Bears are 2-0. Is that good? No one knows! But when has that ever stopped anyone from guessing? Here's what they're saying:

NBC Sports Chicago – #15
Either the Bears are actually showing progress or they were just fortunate to be playing the Lions and Giants the first two weeks. Mitch Trubisky and the offense is going to have to put up more than 17 points in Atlanta.

The Bears are clearly high on Mooney, a rookie fifth-round pick out of Tulane who ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds at the NFL combine. Don't be surprised to see Mooney play a substantial role every week, especially since Miller, who is supposed to be Chicago's No. 2 wideout after Allen Robinson II, is still struggling in the consistency department.

The Bears are never going to be world-beaters with Mitchell Trubisky under center, but so far, it's been good enough for 2-0. Trubisky threw two quick touchdown passes against the Giants, and when the offense stalled out in the second half, the defense took it home with a game-saving red-zone stand to secure the win.

Mitch Trubisky is 2-0. Think about that. Now give him credit. He's done some good things to get them going to start the season.

I don't buy it yet. They weren't sustainably good against Detroit, and they nearly blew a three-score halftime lead to the terrible, Saquon Barkley-less Giants. This is a mediocre team that has backed into a pair of wins to start the year.

David Montgomery had his best game as a pro, with 127 total yards and a touchdown. Montgomery needs to keep playing like that because there’s not a ton else to love about the offense. The Bears have two very close wins, and no team will turn down 2-0, but they’ll need to play better.

WR Allen Robinson seems like a solid dude, but why is a guy who has caught eight of 18 targets for 107 yards making such a hubbub about his contract?
